This class is an introduction to our discovery process. It offers the opportunity the biblical principals by which our church operates. This class will be offered as needed throughout the year, for those who would like to become members or renew their understanding and commitment to membership with Hope Lutheran Church.

Since we have members from many different church backgrounds, this class was designed to clearly explain who and what our church is to be, its purpose and vision. This class will be offered to all interested in a fresh view of the church. It also helps to explain many of the questions I've heard as to why we are doing what we are doing in the church these days.

It is essential that all who come to these classes feel a connection both to Jesus Christ and His church. By taking this class, it is intended that you will see how to make these vital connections in your life more of a reality. Some of the key issues that this class will focus on are:

• What is the purpose of Hope Lutheran Church?
• What does it mean to be a Christian?
• What does Hope believe concerning baptism and the Lord's Supper?
• What does it mean to be a member of Hope Lutheran Church?
• How should church be structures based on the Biblical vision of the Church?

(It is recommended that you complete CLASS 101 prior to taking this class.)

During this study you will focus on how to develop the four habits necessary for growth in maturity in Christ. This is much more than a class, it is helping you to grow to be more Christ minded in your everyday life. This class focuses on personal growth in the individual and their relationship with God and His Body of believers. What does it mean to be a mature Christian? What role does discipleship and mentoring take in our church? What are some practical simple ways that Jesus shows us to be mature Christians shining our light into the world?
